Wold Newton Archives‎ > ‎Farming‎ > ‎

Unlike many villages in northern Lincolnshire, Wold Newton was not enclosed following a special Act of Parliament.  However, William Gilliat of Wold Newton was a Commissioner and could have earned a considerable amount of money in this occupation.

William Gilliat, his son and wife are buried in Wold Newton churchyard.
